The Georgian capital of Tbilisi will celebrate the annual city festival on the first weekend of October with events for both children and adults, mayor Kakha Kaladze said earlier on Tuesday.

The festival will take place at several different locations in Tbilisi:

  • Rike Park

  • Legvtakhevi

  • Orbeliani Square

  • Gudiashvili Square

  • Europe Square

This year’s festival programme will include children’s concerts and attractions, sports activities, musical performances, open air museums, cinemas and public discussions in Tbilisi yards.

The award ceremony of Honorary Citizens and a gala concert will be hosted at 8pm on October 2.

Tbilisoba was first marked in 1979 and soon became one of the country’s spectacular celebrations.

Marked as a public holiday, the festival traditionally attracts thousands of people and hosts all sorts of events from mid-morning until late in the evening.
