Georgia exports 17,000 tonnes of hazelnuts as of December 26


A total of 17,000 tonnes of Georgian hazelnuts have been exported from August 1 to December 26, at a value of 77.2 million USD, the Georgian Agriculture Ministry announces.

The volume of exported hazelnuts in the reporting period increased by 28%, while the value of the product has grown by 10% year-on-year.

  • Jan. - Nov. 2021: domestic exports in Georgia up 26.7%

In January-November 2021, the export of Georgian hazelnuts and other nuts increased by 29.6% compared to the same period last year and totalled 104.4 million USD, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reported.


Georgian hazelnuts were exported to the following EU countries:

  • Italy (7,054 tonnes)

  • Germany (3,140 tonnes)

  • Spain (478 tonnes)

  • Czechia (445 tonnes)

  • Poland (337 tonnes)

  • Lithuania (305 tonnes)

  • France (300 tonnes)

  • Bulgaria (132 tonnes)

  • Greece (71 tonnes)

  • Latvia (70 tonnes)

  • Estonia (60 tonnes)

  • Belgium (41 tonnes)

  • Hungary (22 tonnes)

  • Croatia (20 tonnes)

Georgian hazelnuts were also exported to Armenia (1,198 tonnes), China (780 tonnes), Ukraine (301 tonnes), Russia (358 tonnes) and other countries.
